Man charged after fatal shooting at Virginia bar that injured multiple people
ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. – A man has been charged in connection with a shooting early Sunday at a bar in Virginia’s Eastern Shore that left one person dead and several others injured, authorities said.
Deputies responded at about 1:41 a.m. to a report of an active shooting at Par 4 Bar & Grill in Temperanceville, according to the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office. Five adult men suffered gunshot wounds, and another man was injured with a facial laceration.
As emergency medical personnel arrived and exited their ambulance, a suspect fired a weapon in their direction. No EMS personnel were injured, officials said.
One man was pronounced dead at the scene. Another was treated and released for a gunshot wound to the arm, while a third was receiving treatment for a gunshot wound to the back. A fourth man was treated for a facial injury. A fifth victim was flown by Maryland State Police to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he underwent surgery.
Authorities identified the suspect as Skylor Dupree Crippen, also known as Skylor Dupree Harmon. He was treated for a gunshot wound to the foot and later taken into custody.
Crippen is charged with second-degree murder, two counts of attempted malicious wounding of emergency medical personnel and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is being held without bail at the Accomack County Jail.
Officials said no additional names will be released until families have been notified.
