Man Barricades in Bus after Salisbury Burglary

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury Police Department (SPD) arrested a man in connection with a burglary on Wednesday.

Police arrested 56-year-old Wilbur Lee Butler, Jr. of Salisbury on charges of second, third, and fourth degree burglary, theft, resisting arrest, and related charges. According to court documents obtained by WMDT, he has since been released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.

On Apr. 15, officers responded to the 200 block of Maryland Avenue in reference to a burglary. Police identified Butler as the individual who trespassed and burglarized a local business, causing damage to the property and stealing household goods with an estimated worth of more than $1,200 dollars. Butler was reportedly found barricaded in a bus on the property when officers arrived. With the assistance of SPD’s Crisis Negotiations and TAC Units, he was taken into custody without further incident.
