Mardela beats North Dorchester to stay undefeated

HURLOCK, Md. – A battle of undefeated Mardela traveled to North Dorchester for a softball matchup. Both teams coming off great wins, on the mound is starters Ava Twilley and left-hander, Julianna Vroman.

We start in the top of the 4th inning, Mardela up 2 runs to 1, Vroman is a tight spot, runner on third base, she jams the hitter, and a groundout allows the Eagles to survive.

Now to the bottom of the 4th inning, Ava Twilley, so cool, calm, and collected – she strikes out the Lady Eagle, she’s been so good for the Warriors all season long.

Vroman, However, is having a great season as well. She kept the Eagles in the game for as long as she could. She strikes out the Warrior, and we had ourselves a pitchers’ duel in Hurlock.

Top of the 7th, score still 2 to 1 for Mardela. A big hit from Camryn Dorr, over the head of the outfield, and she’s thinking three, diving headfirst for the triple.

Mardela smelling victory now, next batter up, Lexie Guy brings Dorr home with the liner to the 3rd base side with an RBI single. Mardela up 3 to 1 now.

Then Ava Twilley, launches one for the 2 run shot. Mardela remains undefeated, winning this one 6 to 1.
