Public meeting will be held to discuss cleanup of the Lake Street Brownfield
SALISBURY, Md. – A public meeting will be held to discuss the cleanup of the Lake Street Brownfield.
That will happen Thursday April 23rd from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Government Office Building in Salisbury.
A Brownfield is a property on which the expansion, redevelopment or reuse may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance.
In the case of 317-325 Lake Street, contamination from petroleum was discovered in the soil and groundwater.
The city was given nearly $1.8 million by the United States Environmental Protection Agencies (USEPA) to remediate the properties to USEPA standards.
The public is invited to share any comments on the progress of Lake Street at the public meeting.
