The Town of Snow Hill approves the sale of old firehouse
SNOW HILL, Md. – The town of Snow Hill is approving the sale of the old firehouse. The historic landmark has finally found a new owner after months of discussion.
For 75 years, the property was known as the Snow Hill Fire Company’s headquarters, just a few thousand feet from the Pocomoke River.
The town has been active in promoting downtown revitalization with its Green Street Promenade project and its advancement on the 301 Willow Street project.
Local downtown store owner, Diana Nolte, says that this move provides the anchor to improve the downtown area. “The new owners seem amazing, the soon to be new owner. It’s going to be turned into a new event venue.” She added that getting to see the progression is something she looks forward to. “Just excited to see the building get back into use with all the problems it has had with leaky roofs and safety issues. So having a new owner, and fresh blood, is great.”
She added that in the downtown area, we are slowly working on filling vacancies in the downtown section.
