PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – The Princess Anne Police Department arrested a juvenile on firearm and drug charges on Monday night.

Officers reportedly conducted a traffic stop on Apr. 13 that led to the discovery of a loaded handgun, illegal narcotics, suspected drug proceeds, and a digital scale. Police say a juvenile offender in the vehicle at the time of the stop was taken into custody and charged accordingly.

“While neighboring jurisdictions continue to deal with the devastating impacts of gun violence—including a shooting just last night in a neighboring county, our officers remain committed to proactive policing and keeping our community safe,” the department said in a message posted to social media. “This is another example of dedicated police work making a real difference—removing a dangerous weapon from our streets, preventing potential future violence, and intervening before a situation escalates further.”
