Salisbury Police Investigating Fatal Crash on Rt. 50
SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury Police Department is investigating a two-vehicle car crash that killed one on Saturday evening.
At 5:29 p.m. on Apr. 11, officers responded to the area of Route 50 (East Salisbury Parkway) and Hobbs Road for a report of a motor vehicle collision. Upon arrival, officers observed two vehicles with significant damage from a collision. Police say members of the Salisbury Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were already on scene and aiding passengers.
A preliminary investigation by police indicates that a 2017 Toyota Sienna was attempting to cross the intersection of Route 50 and Hobbs Road when it collided with a 2018 Jeep Compass traveling westbound on Route 50.
There were two occupants in the Sienna and three occupants in the Compass. All individuals were transported by Salisbury EMS to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional for treatment. One passenger in the Compass, identified as 77-year-old Kharon Webster, was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
