ONANCOCK, Va. – The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office has announced the conclusion of Operation Melt Down, a narcotics investigation designed to combat the distribution of methamphetamine in Accomack County.

Police made two arrests in connection with their investigation; 39-year-old Amanda Rae Daisey of Onancock and 35-year-old Chad Bangura Crockett Jr. of Laurel, Delaware. Daisey was arrested on three counts of distributing a schedule one or two controlled substance and related drug charges. She was provided a $5,000.00 unsecured bond by the Norfolk Magistrates Office. Crockett was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, distribution of methamphetamine, and distribution of heroin. He is currently being held without bond at the Accomack County Jail.

Authorities launched their investigation in Feb. after identifying Daisey as a suspected source of narcotics supply. They proceeded to conduct controlled purchases at Scoops Ice Cream and Sandwich Shop, located on Market Street in Onancock. The following month, investigators were able to identify Daisey’s source of supply as Crockett, also known as “Ocho.”

Members of the Criminal Investigations Division and Criminal Impact Unit observed Crockett arrive at the aforementioned ice cream store, and deliver approximately 60 grams of packaged methamphetamine along with twelve “bundles,” rubber banded wax folds commonly containing heroin and/or fentanyl. Officials proceeded to conduct a search warrant at the property, resulting in the seizure of approximately 12 grams of packaged methamphetamine and a digital scale. The items recovered by investigators have been sent to the Virginia Department of Forensic Science for further analysis.
