Groundhog with rabies bites family dog
GREENWOOD, Del. – The Delaware Division of Public Health(DPH) is warning people in Greenwood about a positive rabies case.
They say a groundhog was confirmed positive for rabies and bit a family dog.
It happened in the area of Tull Road and Amalfi Lane in Greenwood.
Notification letters are being sent to residents.
So far there are no known human exposures, but DPH recommends anyone who think they or their pets in the area may have bitten or scratched between March 17 and March 31 should contact the DPH rabies program at 302-744-4990.
