SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury Zoo has announced the return of the annual Zoo Stampede 5K Run/Walk, sponsored by Vernon Powell Shoes.

Participants are encouraged to dress in their favorite animal-themed costumes, with a prize awarded for the most creative outfit.

This year’s event highlights the monarch butterfly, celebrating the Zoo’s involvement in the Monarch SAFE (Saving Animals From Extinction) program. Following the race, an educational community day will highlight the Zoo’s monarch conservation efforts.
