WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano officially announced her reelection campaign on Wednesday.

In a post to social media, Giordano celebrated her first term’s achievements, citing investments in public safety, infrastructure, economic growth, and government transparency. However, she says she still has more she wants to accomplish.

“We are at a critical moment, and Wicomico County needs steady, proven leadership to keep moving forward,” Giordano wrote. “I’m running to build on our progress and ensure our county remains a place where families feel safe, businesses grow, and our children succeed.”

Giordano was sworn in as County Executive on Dec. 6, 2022, becoming the first woman elected to the position.

She currently faces one political opponent in the race, Ernest Davis of Salisbury. He announced his election campaign on Mar. 13.
