Milford PD Investigating Fatal Car Crash

MILFORD, Del. – The Milford Police Department is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred Friday morning.

At 7:10 a.m. on Mar. 27, police say a Jeep Liberty was travelling northbound on North Street when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle struck a parked vehicle and then left the roadway, striking an electrical pole. After impact, the vehicle caught fire, but the sole occupant was pulled from the vehicle by officers that arrived on scene.

Police and EMS began life saving measures on a 32-year-old male driver. He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. His name is being withheld until his family is notified.

North Street, between NW 4th Street and North Street Ext., was closed for approximately two and a half hours while the crash was investigated and the electrical pole was repaired.
