The Towson Tigers dominate UMES Baseball
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – The Towson Tigers traveled across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge for some baseball action. Coming into the game, they were 7-13, looking to get a win vs. the 4-16 UMES Hawks.
UMES just had a shootout vs Coppin State, barely losing 17-16, and are looking to stack that momentum in this matchup.
Bottom of the 1st inning, the Hawks down a run, Julian Jimenez hits a blooper to center field and gets on base. Later in the inning, a wild pitch, and Jimenez and UMES get on the board, tying the game up at 1.
Top of the 2nd inning, Brady Nathison for Towson launches the ball to left field. Over the outfielder’s head, and the Tigers get another run on the board, ending the inning up 4 to 1.
3rd inning now, a local talent- AJ Kolb from Decatur smashing one to the same spot, and this one had the distance. 3-run homer extending the lead for Towson.
The Tigers really pulled away in the middle innings, winning the ballgame 19 to 5 as they take down the Hawks.
