Dover Police Arrest 19-Year-Old on Multiple Weapons Offenses
DOVER, Del. – The Dover Police Department (DPD) has arrested a 19-year-old on multiple weapons offenses.
Police arrested Marlon Martinez on charges of possession of a firearm by a person permitted, 12 counts of possession of ammunition by a person prohibited, resisting arrest, and related gun charges. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $107,000 cash bond.
At 7:02 p.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 18, the DPD’s Street Crimes and Drugs, Vice, & Organized Crime Units, in addition to Delaware Probation and Parole, responded to the 200 Block of Northdown Drive. As officers attempted to serve the felony warrant, Martinez fled from officers on foot before being apprehended.
After taking Martinez into custody, officers found a Country Arms RAS47 firearm concealed in his pants. The firearm was loaded with 7.62 caliber ammunition. Officers later obtained a search warrant for Martinez’ residence. During the search, officers located additional firearms and 12 different calibers of ammunition in the home.
