(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – Cambridge-South Dorchester High’s Boys Basketball Team is just one win away from repeating as State Champions. And we got the chance to sit down with first year Head Coach, Reggie Parker, ahead of the Championship game.

It’s had its ups and downs. Last few games this year, that we would love to get back, but, all in all, we’re right where we aim to be,” says Coach Parker as he looks back on a whirlwind first season.

CSD is coming off the previous year where Cambridge-South Dorchester won the Class 1A Championship, to have them make it back has Coach Parker incredibly proud of his students.

Coach Parker tells WMDT, “I don’t have the words explain, just to stay the course and trust the process and be right at the doorstep of your goal. It’s just an amazing thing.”

As Coach Parker gets set for the South Dorchester’s Championship game. He’s keeping his teams’ eyes on the prize.

He says, “I’m just locked into the team. So, turn off my. No social media. Just block out the noise…>

And he tells us this first season has helped as well with developing the student athletes.

It’s been a humbling experience. I resort back to God every time. Pray a lot in regards to just the student athlete. The student side have been my main goal. What kind of student they turned into…” says Coach Parker.

The championship game between Cambridge-South Dorchester and the SEED School of Maryland has been postponed to Wednesday, March 18th at 5:00 P.M. due to the threat of severe weather.
