Free Two-Day dental clinic to provide care in Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. – A free dental clinic offering basic oral health services to adults will take place later this month at the Wicomico County Youth & Civic Center in Salisbury.

The Eastern Shore Mission of Mercy (ESMOM) will host the clinic on Friday, March 27, and Saturday, March 28, providing dental care at no cost to patients. The event will be held at the Wicomico County Youth & Civic Center, located at 500 Glen Ave.

Organizers say the clinic is open to adults ages 18 and older and does not require insurance, payment or proof of eligibility. Services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dental services offered during the clinic include X-rays, cleanings, fillings, limited extractions and selected root canals. Organizers noted that bridges, crowns, full dentures, braces and cosmetic dental procedures will not be available.

The Eastern Shore Mission of Mercy is a volunteer-run organization that provides free dental care clinics throughout the Delmarva region. Portable dental equipment will be used during the event, including chairs with a weight limit of 375 pounds. Wheelchair users must be able to transfer themselves into the dental chair.

Doors will open at 6 a.m. each day, and no appointments will be scheduled in advance. Organizers say patients will be seen until capacity is reached.

Patients can pre-register for services to help reduce wait times and learn more about what to expect during the clinic. Organizers are also seeking volunteers of all skill levels to help support the event and assist in delivering care to community members in need.
