100 Acts of Kindness Campaign Launches
Salisbury, Md. – The 100 Acts of Kindness, the latest campaign out of KindSBY calls on 100 neighbors to donate $100 or more to unlock 100 acts of kindness in the Salisbury community. According to KindSBY Executive Director Heather Brooks, if successful, the campaign could impact thousands of people.
One thing Brooks said she wants people to know is that, big or small, every donation matters.
“We’re looking for donors,” she said. “That can be individuals. It can be organizations. It could be businesses. Groups. It can be anyone. And their donation, whether it’s a dollar or $1,000 — every dollar counts and makes a difference.”
Brooks says the goal is to have 100 donations, known as “acts of kindness,” pledged within three months. Donors can also choose one of four key areas in the community to focus on: food and shelter, which supports those in need; essential services, which supports first responders; youth and education, which supports teachers, students and schools, and community connections; which supports organizations or events that help lift up neighborhoods.
“I’m confident that we can do it,” Brooks said. “We are looking for 100 neighbors that care. And anyone that donates $100 or more will be named in the campaign as one of those 100 neighbors that care.”
For Brooks, the launch of this campaign means months of hard work finally coming to fruition.
“This is a vision that I’ve been working on for months trying to get this to a place where we’re ready to launch it,” she said. “We’re really passionate about what we do with KindSBY, and I’m excited to get this going. So — Almost makes me cry.” Brooks said before laughing and wiping her eyes.
