19-Year-Old Killed in Crash in Queen Anne’s Co.; MSP Investigating
QUEEN ANNE’S COUNTY, Md. – The Maryland State Police is investigating a fatal two-vehicle accident that occurred Thursday night in Millington.
At 11:16 p.m. on Mar. 12, troopers from the Centreville Barrack responded to U.S. Route 301, just north of Maryland Route 544, for a report of a two-vehicle crash. A preliminary investigation, a Chevrolet Traverse was traveling in front of a Volkswagen GTI on U.S. Route 301 when the Volkswagen struck the Chevrolet in the rear. Subsequently, the Chevrolet traveled off the roadway and overturned into a wooded area.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 19-year-old Drew Satterfield of Middletown, Delaware, was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The driver of the Volkswagen, 22-year-old Easton Bryant of Chester, Maryland, was flown by Maryland State Police Aviation Command’s Trooper 1 to a local trauma center for treatment of his injuries.
Police believe that speeding and impairment may have been factors in the crash. Charges may be pending the outcome of the investigation and further consultation with the Office of the State’s Attorney in Queen Anne’s County.
The roadway was closed for more than two hours for the crash investigation.
