DC Man Arrested on Kidnapping, Carjacking Charges in Easton
EASTON, Md. – The Easton Police Department (EPD) has arrested a Washington, D.C. man on charges including kidnapping.
Police have arrested 25-year-old Shakur I. Brown on charges of kidnapping, carjacking, first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, and false imprisonment. He has been released to the history of the Talbot County Detention Center.
On Saturday, Mar. 7, officers responded to the 1000 block of North Washington Street for a report of a motor vehicle theft. While enroute to the area, EPD received multiple 911 calls regarding a person clinging to the hood of a vehicle traveling west on Ocean Gateway. Dispatch tracked the call to the area of east Kennedy Street, where officers ultimately located the vehicle. Upon finding the car, the victim was no longer visible on the hood of the vehicle. The car then fled on westbound Ocean Gateway.
Fearing the victim was now in the vehicle with the suspect, officers pursued the vehicle into Queen Anne’s County. Law enforcement was able to stop the vehicle and located the victim unharmed in the passenger seat.
