Accidental fire destroys detached two-story garage in Salisbury
SALISBURY, Md. – An accidental fire that spread as a result of burning tree limbs destroyed a garage in Salisbury Tuesday.
It happened just after 3 p.m. on Union Church Road.
The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal said the occupant of the home was burning tree limbs and brush behind the garage.
He stepped away briefly and it spread across natural cover and into his garage.
The total estimated loss to the structure and its contents is $100,000.
It took 20 firefighters a total of 45 minutes to control flames.
