Another raccoon tests positive for rabies in Wicomico County
WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – A second raccoon in Wicomico County has tested positive for rabies this month.
Officials said the raccoon was found in the area of Esham Road in Parsonsburg.
The positive test came after contact with a dog.
The Wicomico County Health Department advises all residents to be aware of their surroundings and to avoid contact with wild or stray animals.
In addition, the health department reminds people to keep pets confined, teach children to leave unfamiliar animals alone, vaccinate pets and secure outside garbage bins.
