Speed Limit to be Reduced on Portion of US 50 in Wicomico Co.

SALISBURY, Md. – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (SHA) announced that the speed limit on a portion of US 50 Business (East Salisbury Parkway/Ocean Gateway) will be reduced by 10 miles per hour.

The speed limit in the 2.7 miles of US 50, from Civic Avenue to Hobbs Road, will change from 55 mph to 45 mph on Friday, Mar. 13. The reductions follows a traffic study recently conducted by the SHA, determining the speed reduction would improve safety for all highway users. New speed limit signs will be installed in the area to alert motorists of the change.
