Cape Henlopen cruises past 2nd Round and into Quarterfinals

LEWES Del. – The 2nd round of the Delaware Boys basketball playoffs, as the Cape Henlopen Vikings welcomed AI DuPont.

It was a close game in the first half, both teams looking to advance to the quarterfinals with a back-and-forth game of basketball.

Early in the second half, Gi’lyl Conrad misses the mark, but after a tough rebound by Tevin Conner, Amir Robertson drains the three at the top of the key, keeping AI DuPont in the game.

They played tough, but the Vikings were too much, Braxton Figgs gets the bounce pass and throws it down, he had a game leading 18 points.

A few moments after his throwdown, due to suffocating defense by Jameson Tingle  gets the loose ball and throws down a mean slam that got the crowd rowdy.

The Vikings would not let up, – Geordan Downing has a few seconds left in the 3rd quarter, and heaves up a contested three to beat the buzzer.

They would run away with the game, winning 73 to 55.
