11th Annual MCE Women’s Business Conference comes to Salisbury
Salisbury, Md. – The annual Aspire to Succeed and Lead Women’s Business Conference will be held on March 6 at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., attendees can win prizes and mingle during the included breakfast and lunch. The event will feature keynote speakers and regional women leaders, feature panels, vendors and professional development opportunities.
“It’s a really good day, good atmosphere,” Director of Maryland Capital Enterprises Women’s Business Center Lisa Twilley said, noting that it provides a place to foster a growing community of women and businesses.
Organizers said the event is meant to bring together entrepreneurs and professionals from across the Eastern Shore, but told WMDT that its biggest value lies in networking. Twilley said one of the biggest values that the conference had was for women entrepreneurs to learn from one another and inspire each other, especially when they feel unmotivated.
“I think that it gives them the motivation,” she said. “I think sometimes they get stuck either doing their business plan or wondering if this is the right idea, if it’s going to be a good business.” When it comes to getting feedback from women who can relate to one another’s unique challenges, she says the conference can give entrepreneurs the right encouragement to keep going.
“It kind of gives them encouragement and gets them to make the next step,” Twilley said. “You know, they kind of just get stuck, I think, and they just need a little bit to give them a boost.”
