Seahawks take first Bayside title since 2016 in dominant fashion
SALISBURY, Md. – Stephen Decatur girl’s basketball claimed their first Bayside Championship since 2016 with a 70-41 win over Kent Island Thursday night at Parkside in Salisbury.
Decatur’s Maleah Blake (18 points) and Maia Holland combined for 15 points in a first half that saw the Seahawks take a 29-15 lead into the break.
The game opened up in the second half but remained in Decatur’s favor, with the Seahawks steadily expanding their lead and shutting the door with Maliyah Manuel putting in all six of her points during the final frame, along with seven fourth-quarter points from Blake.
The Seahawks will host the winner of Northern and Arundel in the 3A Region Semifinals on Tuesday, March 3rd.
