Colonel Richardson Vs. Snow Hill 12 9 25

MARYLAND., – The Boys Bayside Conference Championship game is inching closer and closer. After the massive snowstorm, the game has been moved again from Wednesday at the Wicomico Civic Center to now Thursday, taking place at Easton High School.

The game was originally supposed to play Tuesday night, but the storms pushed it back, WMDT Sports spent some time with Colonel Richardson before the big conference game.

The Colonels are the number 1 seed in the entire conference, and will play a veteran focused scrappy team in Wicomico High School.

Guard for Colonel Makiah Batson said the team is not done making school history.

“You know, we did a lot last year. Last year we won the regionals for the first time in 30 years, this year, we are the best team in 1A in 50 years. So this is a big thank you Plutschak, him pushing us to get here, coach V, coach James getting us to this point.”

Coming into this game, the Colonels have been dominant, finishing the season 20 and 2 overall and 15 and 1 in the conference. They will take on a feisty Wicomico High School team out of the Bayside South that went 17 and 3 overall and 13 and 3 in conference.

Colonel Guard Leshaun Allen explains what this means for him and his team. “Me and my guys are excited to play in a Bayside Championship. It’s been a long time, we’ve been thinking about this since last year. I mean, it’s a lot to bring in, but we’re ready, of course,” said Allen. “I expect them to play, I mean they are a great team, but I got us.”

WMDT Sports will provide extensive coverage on the Bayside Championship coming Thursday.
