Registration Opens for Little League Challenger Program

SALISBURY, Md. – Wicomico Recreation & Parks’ Little League Challenger program is set to return to the field this spring.

Little League Challenger is an adaptive program that provides individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities the opportunity to play baseball. It is open to players from Wicomico, Worcester and Somerset counties. Games are held at Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex’s Field 7 ½, an adaptive field designed to encourage people of all abilities to play together.

Games are typically one or two innings long, and last about 45 minutes to an hour. All players bat and play the field.

The season kicks off with an opening day ceremony on Saturday, Apr. 18, including a player and buddy parade, ceremonial first pitch and the first games of the season.

Registration is open now through Mar. 8.
