15-Year-Old Facing Arson-Related Charges After Minor House Fire

SALISBURY, Md. – The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal has determined that a small house fire that took place on Tuesday afternoon was incendiary in nature.

At 2:50 p.m. on Feb. 17, the Salisbury Fire Department responded to a minor dwelling fire on West London Avenue after it was reported by a resident. Ten firefighters extinguished the blaze in five minutes.

Fire marshals determined that the fire originated from a bedroom in the home. A 15-year-old juvenile is reportedly being referred to the Department of  Juvenile Services on arson-related charges. An arrest is pending at this time.

The total damage to the house and its contents is estimated to be valued at two thousand dollars. No one was displaced as a result of this fire.
