Princess Anne PD Seize Drugs During Traffic Stop

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – The Princess Anne Police Department made an arrest and drug seizure on Monday.

On Feb. 16, officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Beckford Avenue and Stewart Neck Road after observing an unspecified traffic violation. During the stop, officers reportedly observed “indicators consistent with criminal activity” and requested assistance from a K9 unit with the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office. Once on scene, the K9 responded and alerted to the presence of narcotics, which led to further investigation.

During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers recovered the following:

  • Two firearms
  • Ammunition and magazines
  • Unspecified quantities of suspected fentanyl, crack cocaine, Xanax, cannabis, and promethazine
  • Drug distribution items, including a digital scale and packaging materials
  • $24 in U.S. currency

“This incident highlights the importance of proactive policing and traffic enforcement in keeping our community safe,” the department said on social media.

Details about the arrest of the driver and their subsequent charges were not made public at this time.
