SALISBURY, Md. – The 21st annual Tim Kennard River Run is set for Sunday, Mar. 1.

Registration is currently open. Families can also sign up their children for the ninth annual Rob’s Run for Kids, held the day beforehand. The race, presented by Pohanka of Salisbury will start and end at Salisbury Bible Fellowship, located at 1500 Court Plaza Lane. The race includes a 10-mile race, 5K run/walk, and 5K noncompetitive “DOG” walk. Opening ceremonies will begin at 8:00 a.m., and the race will follow shortly at 8:30 a.m.

The run is held in memory of Tim Kennard, who passed away at age 48 on Mar. 11, 2004, after a battle with kidney cancer. The race benefits TEAM 360, which helps people of different abilities train and participate in mainstream athletic events. Funds will also go to Coalition of Caring, a fund for animals in need; and the Eastern Shore Running Club Scholarship Fund.

“It is heartwarming to know that the community has made this an annual tradition for over two decades,” said Race Director Harlan Eagle. “It’s exciting to reach this milestone, and we’ve been able to give thousands of dollars back to the community over the years.”

The registration fee for the Tim Kennard River Run is $65 for the 10-mile run, and $35 for the 5K events, plus registration fees. Day-of registration is open until 8:00 a.m., and is $70 and $40, respectively.
