Stephen Decatur Seahawks take down Easton Warriors on Senior Night
BERLIN, Md. – Senior night at Ste
phen Decatur as the Seahawks celebrated the seniors who have impacted the team.
The high school matchup was between Bayside North and Bayside South teams. Both are middle-of-the-pack right now, but as things head to playoffs, both needed a victory to get momentum for later in the month.
Early in the first quarter, Senior Kayden Sharkey started things off getting the ball on the inside, and he makes something happen with a spin around layup.
The Warriors played tough despite a rough start. They slowly climbed their way back into the game in the 2nd frame. Ah’mir Rhodes drove to the cup for the layup and plus the foul.
He had a total of 19 points in the game. Continuously playing with supreme aggression to get to his spots all night long. Early in the 2nd. Half, Rhodes drove the hoop again for the tough finish.
He and Landon Finney played very well and gave them a chance in the end. Finney took a step back three in the 4th and gave Easton the lead.
However, Decatur kept their foot on the gas, leading for most of the game. Johnathon Purnell was quiet for the first 3 quarters, but he went into takeover mode in the 4th, scoring all 12 of his points in crunch time.
He missed the mid range, but the Seahawks get the rebound- and dish it back out to Purnell for the big three.
Seahawks pull out a close one over Easton 59 – 56.
