BVSPCA parents’ night out event

GEORGETOWN, Del. Brandywine Valley SPCA is hosting its Parents Night Out program this Saturday.

The event gives parents with children ages 5 through 12 a night to themselves. Kids will have the opportunity to learn about animals, do crafts, and watch a movie, all while playing with the shelter’s dogs and cats. The event will run from 4 to 8 p.m.

BVSPCA Senior Communications Director Sara Smith said it’s a great opportunity for kids to learn how to interact with animals.

“They have them at karate, they have them at gymnastics, and they have them all over the place. But here, you are helping homeless animals in your own state. And, you know, all of this is a donation that goes back to help the animals we’re caring for. It’s also great to be able to teach your kids a little bit more about what we do and how they can help,” Smith said.

There are still spots available at BVSPCA’s Georgetown and New Castle locations, here is the link to register.
