Three-Vehicle Car Crash Kills One; DSP Investigating

LAUREL, Del. – The Delaware State Police are investigating a three-vehicle car crash that killed one and injured others on Saturday evening.

At 6:25 p.m. on Feb. 7, a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling westbound, in the crossover, at Sussex Highway and Mount Zion Road. A preliminary investigation revealed that the Chevrolet attempted to cross Sussex Highway and pulled into the path of an Infiniti QX60. As a result, the front of the Infiniti struck the passenger’s side of the Chevrolet. Additionally, a Ford Escape was traveling behind the Infiniti at the time of the accident, causing the front of the Ford to strike the rear of the Infiniti.

The Infiniti was carrying five adult passengers. The third-row seat passenger, 43-year-old Latisha Horsey of Milford, was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she passed away the following day. The driver of the Infiniti, a 38-year-old woman from Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, and passengers, a 44-year-old man from Phoenix, Arizona, a 42-year-old man also from Milford, and a 40-year-old man from El Paso, Texas, were all taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Ford, a 60-year-old man from Laurel, was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 39-year-old man and two child passengers, all from Millsboro, were not hurt.
