Parker & Adkins Combine for 6 TD’s As Delmar Tops IR

The Delmar football team stayed perfect in conference play, rolling past Indian River 47-28 behind three touchdowns a piece from Brooks Parker and Jimmy Adkins. The win improves the Wildcats to 6-2, while the loss drops the Indians to 2-6.

The ‘Cats would get the scoring started after Parker would take a handoff in from 11 yards out. The Indians came to play though, as they would come right back and take the lead off a George Martin would take on in from short, with the Indians connecting on the point after. Delmar would take over from there though. Jimmy Adkins would drop back to pass in the redzone, and drop a perfect pass over the shoulder to Isaac Austin. Parker would add another touchdown run to cap off the first half. The Wildcats came out firing in the second half though, as Te’Shawn Dennard would bounce one to the left side, get to the sideline and cut it up field for a score. Martin would answer back with 3 more touchdowns in the half, but Delmar wasn’t going to let his big night ruin theirs. Adkins would break loose for a couple touchdown runs before Parker would ice the game with another in the 4th.

Delmar returns to work next Friday when they travel to play Milford, while Indian River host Lake Forest on Friday.
