Carter’s 3 TD’s Help Bennett Debut Shipyard In Style

The James M. Bennett football team got to debut their new football stadium right Saturday afternoon after they topped Stephen Decatur 25-10. The win improves the Clippers 4-5, while the loss drops the Seahawks to 0-9.

The teams would be in a defensive battle early on, going into the half scoreless at 0-0. The offense finally got rolling for the Clippers though in the second half. They would drive to the Seahawks half of the field before Diondre Carter would break loose for a 35 yard touchdown run. Following a Decatur punt, the tailback was right back to work. This time he would take one in from 19 yards out. The Seahawks would fumble on their ensuing drive, which would set up yet another Carter touchdown run. Bennett would then put the game away after they recovered yet another Decatur fumble and Logan Bynum would take it 30 yards to the house for the score. The Seahawks continued to battle and were able to get on the board late, but time would run out as Bennett would get the win.

Bennett returns to work next Friday when they host Wi-Hi, while Decatur host Snow Hill on Friday.
