Dorchester co. Health Dept. looking for Volunteers Amid Lowest Temperatures
(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – As the temperatures outside drop, The Dorchester County Health Department is looking for volunteers at their warming centers.
The Health department is looking for people to sign up to lend a hand at overnight centers, including the Salvation Army on Washington Street in Cambridge.
“That facility at Washington Street at Salvation Army is open 24 hours when it gets this cold. So normal staffing used to be an open at night, but now they have to be open 24 hours. So any volunteer shift. We’re looking to schedule,” says the Health Department’s Hannah Mayhew.
