MD Fire Marshal Investigating Salisbury Apartment Fire
SALISBURY, Md. – The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating a fire that damaged a third floor apartment on Saturday night.
At 10:25 p.m. on Jan. 24, crews from the Salisbury Fire Department responded to a senior living apartment building on Riverside Drive after a fire was reported by an occupant. Thirty-five firefighters battled the blaze for 20 minutes. No one was displaced as a result.
The total damage sustained to the unit is estimated to be valued at $5,000. Smoke alarms and a sprinkler system were present on the property, but they were not activated.
The fire is believed to have originated on the exterior of he building, but a preliminary cause has not been determined at this time. Anyone with information about this fire is asked to call authorities at 410-713-3780.
