Hockessin man charged with 6th DUI
HOCKESSIN, Del. – Delaware State Police charged a man on his 6th DUI following a single vehicle crash Tuesday night.
Police say the incident happened at around 10:30 p.m. A Ford Focus being driven by 34-year-old David Brower was traveling northbound on Newport Gap Pike, approaching Lancaster Pike, when it veered across the southbound lanes and back across the northbound lanes, before hitting an embankment in the yard of a residence on Chapel Court.
Brower was taken to Christiana Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Further investigation revealed that he was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, and a computer check revealed that he had five prior DUI convictions.
We’re told that warrants are on file for Brower, charging him with 6th offense DUI, failure to remain in a single lane of travel, unreasonable speed, and driving suspended or revoked. Execution of the warrants and arraignment are pending charges.
