Worcester County Government in early stages of 2027 Fiscal Year Budget
WORCESTER COUNTY, Md. – It’s budget time in Worcester County, the 2027 Fiscal Year Budget in the county is being prepared.
County Commissioner Chip Bertino says they are in the early stages of the budgeting process. Staff now is going through the budget of various agencies and departments, the county funds.
That includes the Sheriff’s Office, Board of Education, The Parks & Recreation, and many more.
Commissioner Bertino says the County Commissioners will be hard at work.
“For myself, I will continue to view the budget through the lens of what is the best interests for county taxpayers. And I don’t think we should be paying for things or allocating money for things we don’t need or can’t afford.”
The state of Maryland is battling a budget deficit. It is expected by Worcester County Local Government that they may face costs pushed down by State Government.
