North Dorchester Downs Rival Colonel Richardson 3-1

The North Dorchester Eagles volleyball team defeated rival Colonel Richardson three sets to one in their regional semifinal game.

The Eagles took the first set 25-16. Colonel fought back from a six point deficit to take the second set. North Dorchester was down 10-7 in the third set, but Leah Smith notched three straight aces to power back, taking the set 25-20.

“I think my team played very well, considering the fact that we’ve only been playing for three years now, so I think we did amazing against our rival school,” said senior Myasia Jones.

Tonight’s victory is just the second playoff win in the program’s history. The Eagles will face Perryville on Friday in the regional matchup.
