UPDATE: Fire engulfs Delmar home, two flown to Johns Hopkins

DELMAR, Md. – Officials are investigating a fire that engulfed a home on Sunday in Delmar and injured two people.

According to the Delmar Fire Department, crews responded to Doris Street near Connelly Mill Road just after 5 p.m. Two patients were flown to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center by Maryland State Police Troopers 4 and 6.

We’re told the blaze was placed under control in approximately 35 minutes. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but officials say it has been determined that it started in the living room of the home.

The following units responded: Delmar ET 74-2, Engine 74-1, Tanker 74-5, Rescue 74-6, Paramedic A-74, Command 74-11, Salisbury Truck 2, Engine 16-1, Paramedic 2, Hebron Engine 507, Engine-Tanker 5, Sharptown Paramedic A-14, Maryland State Police Medevac Trooper 4 and Maryland State Police Medevac Trooper 6.
