City of Salisbury Announces Increase in Stormwater Maintenance

(SALISBURY, Md) – The City of Salisbury is increasing enforcement of stormwater maintenance requirements.

The city announced Friday under state and federal stormwater regulations it will begin inspecting stormwater facilities to make sure they’re running properly.

That same release says the city will start issuing violation notices to property owners who aren’t in compliance.

Mayor Randy Taylor says they’re trying to prevent man-made debris from polluting stormwater drains.

“It’s all part of the same ecosystem. So, you know, we’re just trying to make people aware. Let’s do preventative maintenance. Let’s keep them as clean as we can and conform with the law,” says Mayor Taylor.

The city of Salisbury says they’re happy to work with property owners who receives notices in order to plan corrections.
