James M. Bennett social media threat under investigation

SALISBURY, Md. – Police and school officials are investigating a threat that was posted to social media by a James M. Bennett High School student on Wednesday.

Right now it is unclear exactly what the threat was, but the principal says school leaders and law enforcement acted fast to prevent anything from happening. A representative from Wicomico County Schools says there was no interruption in classes, no threat to students, and all activities continued as normal both yesterday and today.

Principal Savage says the safety of students and staff is the number one priority and she plants to hold the student in question to the fullest extent of the code of conduct.
