2025 Be An Angel Appeal Impact
Salisbury, Md. – Though Be An Angel Appeal Christmas trees were taken down on Wednesday, Coastal Hospice, a nonprofit that provides palliative and hospice care to patients, continues to see the impact of the donations.
“So far with 2025 Angel appeal, we have received almost $200,000,” Kerrie Bunting, Coastal Hospice donor relations team leader, said. She said that though it was about $20,000 less than last year, Coastal Hospice is grateful for the donations. Bunting also said that every little bit counted, especially during the holidays.
“It’s hard this is a hard time to, you know, talk hospice during the holidays,” Chief Clinical Officer Holly Murray said. “But it’s historically we do see a boost in census around this time, and I think that the be an Angel campaign really does assist with that.”
Next year, Coastal Hospice hopes to engage even more with the community by partnering with more small businesses and continue to make the angel appeal a holiday tradition.
“Having that in the community to and spreading it to more locations also just as a way to remind people that Coastal Hospice serves their area,” Director of Business Development Lauren Blair said. “You know, seeing a tree, you know, with a name on there that you recognize from the community that’s powerful.”
Bunting said that as more people lose health care coverage due to skyrocketing premiums set to take place in January, their work is even more meaningful heading into the new year.
“We are faced with hard economic times,” she said. “So we step in. We never turn anyone down, regardless of their ability to pay.”
She said that though the trees have come down, there is still time to make a donation through the Be An Angel Appeal.
“We will be taking angel appeal donations and acknowledgments until the end of January,” she said. She said even though the Be An Angel Appeal is coming to an end, she said she hopes it will serve as a reminder to support their work year round.
