Harriet Tubman Center Prepares for New Year’s Day Tradition
(CHURCH CREEK, Md) – In rural Dorchester County, a special celebration is planned for New Year’s Day.
The Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Visitor’s Center in Church Creek will be hosting what they’re calling a “First Day Hike.”
County tourism officials said it’s about starting the new year with a little bit of history, and push for public health.
“That gets you going, right? You want to set up those New Year resolutions to get out and move every day? What a great way to start your move. Get out and exercise with the park ranger…” says Dorchester County Tourism Director, Holly Gilpin.
If you’re interested in taking part in the First Day Hike, you can visit Dorchester County Tourism’s website for more information.
