POLICE: body found along Route 50 in Berlin could have been victim of hit-and-run

Troopers from the Maryland State Police say a body located off of Route 707 and Route 50 was the likely the victim of a hit-and-run.

According to a release, a caller contacted police on Friday around noon, to report what he initially thought to be a deer in a ditch. Once Troopers were on the scene, the area was blocked off, and an investigation assumed.

As of now, Troopers say the scene indicated the victim may have been the result of a hit and run crash due to the physical evidence and debris left at the scene.

At this point, police are not releasing a name of the victim, until next of kin is made aware.

State Police ask anyone with potential information that could contribute to the investigation, to contact the Berlin Barrack at 410-641-3101.

The Lower Eastern Shore Crime Solvers at 410-548-1776 is offering up to $1,000 for any information leading to an arrest for the person responsible for this crime.
