DSP: Search underway for suspect wanted in connection to shooting incident

GEORGETOWN, Del. – Delaware State Police are asking for the public’s help in locating 33-year-old Alvaro Marroquinn who is wanted in connection to a shooting incident.

According to police, the incident happened shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday, in the 100 block of Garden Circle in Georgetown. Police were initially called for a medical emergency, and on arrival, a 39-year-old female was located in a Toyota Tacoma, suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to Sussex Bayhealth Hospital but was later transferred to Christiana Hospital in serious condition.

Through further investigation, Marroquinn was developed as a suspect. We’re told he currently has active warrants out of Troop 4 for first degree assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
