The Post-Christmas Shopping Rush in Salisbury

(SALISBURY, Md) – The holiday season may be coming to a close, but that isn’t stopping plenty of shoppers from scoring those last remaining deals.

“…A little bit of everything. Clothes towels, washcloths, humidifier…” says Jennifer Johnson of Millsboro as she ran through what she and her husband purchased Friday.

Gerald Mims shops on December 26th as part of a family tradition. He said his family comes in to visit from across the state of Maryland

And he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Gerald tells us, “We’ve been coming up here for 40 years now. Every year we come this time. And so it’s about family. It’s about shopping, it’s about eating, and we enjoy doing it all.”

“And for others, that day spent shopping is as much about spending time with loved ones as it is about the deals.

“Oh, my mom got some gift cards, so I decided to take her out. And so that way she can at least enjoy coming out after Christmas instead of in the Christmas rush,” says Amanda Marshall from Salisbury.

With quite a few being caught off guard by how crowded certain places were, like Marie Georges who was shopping for her daughter’s birthday.

Marie says, “It’s like there’s a lot of people even in the store. There’s no parking somewhere. At Walmart. So I have to park very far, but. And also let’s. I’m excited.”

Shoppers told us it was the same sight at every major store in Salisbury as the mall: lots of crowds, and lots of deals at the stores.
