Foodie Friday: Wok N Bowl
SALISBURY, Md. – For the final edition of Foodie Friday, WMDT’s Leila Weah made her way to Wok N Bowl in South Salisbury.
There was a lot of the Foodie Friday agenda, from appetizers to entrees.
Korean Corn Dog
“It looks like potatoes on the outside; it feels like street food, fair food, good food, so I know there’s going to be a really good crunch factor to this,” Leila said.
“I like the sauce element that they had on it, it gives it some moisture, because the outside is very breaded, “Leila added. “It’s not like it’s too dry or anything, but it’s very breaded, and the potatoes, too, can make it a little dry in your mouth.”
Sushi Burrito
“This is the American fusion cuisine final boss,” Leila said, admiring the burrito. “It’s like the best of both worlds, where you have a sushi roll, but a bigger form that you can have bites out of while you’re holding it. You’re not picking up the chopsticks.”
Chicken Teriyaki Bowl
“This is their chicken teriyaki bowl. They’ve got some crunchies on top, looks like some little puffs, some kimchi to give it that acidic flavor, and then, also, with the ginger as well. And then my favorite, mango,” Leila said, stirring the dish. “Let’s see what the bed is… ooh! Crab and chicken! That’s going to be interesting.”
“You would think that, because there’s so many cold elements going on, the chicken is really playing the role that it needs to be playing right now, bringing that warmth to the dish that is needed,” Leila added.
You can check out Wok N Bowl at 1311 S Salisbury Blvd. If you visit them make sure to tell them you saw them in Foodie Friday.
“Everything that I tried was amazing. It’s in a very nice area, we’re right across the street from the campus; this is a nice spot to come, get something off the menu, sit down, do your homework, chit chat with your friends, and it’s a nice ambiance in here,” Leila said with a smile.
