Vehicle Fire at Delmar Salavge Yard

DELMAR, Del. – The Delmar Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire at a salvage yard on Sunday.

On Dec. 20, crews responded to Whitesville Road and arrived to find a vehicle on fire at the rear of the complex. As a fire engine was finding the best route to the vehicle at the muddy lot, a worker at the facility was able to pick the vehicle up with a piece of heavy machinery and bring it out from the rear. Crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly, and operated on scene for approximately 30 minutes followed by an additional hour of clean up when returning.
